This past week, I worked on finishing up the Google Location History project – which allows users to upload their Location History data from the Takeout archive to OpenHumans and visualize it on an interactive heatmap.
Currently, it allows the user to set the time span for which they want to see their location history rendered on the heatmap.
If you have any ideas regarding how this project can be improved further, feel free to ping me at jasminetamak [at] outlook [dot] com
I was recently selected as an Outreachy intern at OpenHumans to work on a project involving adding new data sources to the platform.
My timeline for this project involves building applications that connect the following data sources to OpenHumans (OH) and also provide the users with a way to interact with that data in a meaningful manner:
- Google Takeout (Location History)
- Fitness tracking wearables (Fitbit, Runkeeper etc.)
To begin with, I’ve been working on creating a skeleton app that will allow users to manage the data they share with OH, since this step will be the same across all projects.
I will be blogging here about the progress on each project! 🙂
